What it foundMaintenance therapy reduced relapse risk in type 1 AIP (RR, 0.58; 95% CI, 0.46-0.72), with longer-term glucocorticoid therapy showing greater benefit compared to shorter-term therapy in Asian cohorts (RR, 0.46; 95% CI, 0.23-0.89). Rituximab showed favorable outcomes for relapse treatment, but evidence is of low certainty.
ContextThis literature reports that type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis has a high risk of relapse, but evidence guiding management strategies remains limited.
